Our Parents

Our Little Wonders families play an active and critical role in the success of our school. Each family:

  • Performs a job for the school which involves 15 to 20 hours per year. A full buy-out option is available, as are partial buy-out options.
  • Helps maintain school facilities by participating in a School Wash (two hours, one Saturday per year). A buy-out option is available.
  • Attends three required night events:
    1. Orientation Meeting (September)
    2. All-school Meeting (October)
    3. Parent Education Meeting (January)
  • Takes responsibility for a play station (e.g., art, dress-up, bouncer, sand) every other week.
  • Cleans up after class for 10 to 15 minutes about seven times a year.

Little Wonders is a parent co-operative program. Your active participation is necessary for smooth operation of our program and school.

  • Regular attendance of the parent or family member is necessary.
  • Paid caregivers are welcome to attend with you and your child. Paid caregivers may only attend without you three (3) times per semester.
  • If you need to miss a class on a day you are scheduled to supervise a station, it is your responsibility to ensure another parent covers your station.

Please remember that your attendance allows you and your child to benefit from the school and helps you ensure the safety of the children.

Each parent or family member attending class must have a completed TB Clearance Form on file as required by State law. This and all other required forms must be submitted before attending class.

TB Testing FAQs

Can I start school without my TB forms completed?
No one may start school without the Parent's Medical (TB Clearance) Form completed. This is a State law.
Where does an adult get a TB test?
Your doctor's office or Immediate Care (650) 570-2273 (2 blocks north of Hillsdale). Please note that you usually have to wait 48 hours for TB test results.
My TB test came out positive, what do I do?
People who have had TB in the past will always test positive. An x-ray is required to determine that you do not have TB, along with a doctor’s letter stating that you do not have TB. Send in your doctor’s OK with your TB test results.
I’m pregnant or nursing and can’t take the TB test. What do I do?
A TB Test is non-invasive and not contraindicated during pregnancy, however, it is your choice. Please attach a doctor’s letter with your forms stating that you are pregnant or nursing and will have the test completed when possible. Such exceptions are only valid until you are no longer pregnant or the child you are nursing is 12 months old.

Besides the wonderful discussion topics and the weekly classes, they also have great events that they plan for the families to enjoy.
